    What funds are eligible for Morgan Stanley Preferred CDs?

    Preferred CDs are available for “qualifying cash”—that is, cash from other financial institutions4 and/or proceeds from the sale, income or distribution from securities in your eligible Morgan Stanley brokerage accounts.4 Cash currently held in existing Morgan Stanley accounts is not considered qualifying cash.

     

    You can get started with as little as $1,000, with the ability to deposit a maximum of $20,000,000 in increments of $1,000.

    What happens to my CD upon maturity?

    Upon maturity, your principal and interest will automatically be allocated to our Preferred Savings Program, which offers a variable rate (not a fixed rate for a set time), and you will have access to funds and continue to enjoy a competitive yield.

     

    Note: Cash placed in CDs may not be withdrawn penalty free until maturity.
